The classic fishbone provides for the arrangement of boards to create corners of 90°. While the fishbone laying with band and rib goes to complete - in the perimeter area of the floor - the field created with the design of boards. The band is an element of wood with different laying geometry compared to the predominant in the overall design, while the rib is a connecting element between different laying geometries.
The structure of boards of the ancient Hungarian floor gives great elegance and dynamism to the overall image of the floor. Boards can be made with any wood species, although many tend to accord their preferences to light and bright woods such as larch and oak, which emphasize the arrangement of boards in Hungarian fishbone floor. Larch has a warm and delicate shade, while oak has cooler tones.
The wood used can be recycled or virgin, in this last case antiqued with treatments such as drying, seasoning and special finish.
